Known for its beautiful views, rock cliffs, big bass, and deep clear water, the lake covers more than 14,000 acres. Water skiing, jet skis, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards are just a few of the toys you will find out on the lake. Boats can also be rented by the hour and fishing guides are readily available. We recommend making reservations as soon as you can in summer months.
The Mountain Fork River is dammed to create the Broken Bow Lake. The warm water river has a lot of recreation to offer. The Upper Mountain Fork River winds through the Ouachita Mountains and is great for floating and fishing smallmouth bass. The Lower Mountain Fork River is one of the most consistently flowing and best whitewater streams in Oklahoma. It is fantastic for canoe and kayaking adventures, and perfect for fly fishing rainbow trout.
Beavers Bend State Park offers a variety of activities for people of all ages. Towering trees, crystal clear waters, and rugged terrain make this state park an outdoor lover’s paradise! Visitors enjoy hiking, biking, boating, water skiing, fishing, nature center activities, river float trips, canoeing, horseback riding, and so much more. Escape into the serenity of nature for spectacular views and excellent canoeing and fishing.
McCurtain County is a hunter’s dream. Abundant with native species, the rugged unharmed public lands offer something for every hunter. Red Slough and Little River National Wildlife Refuge offer some of the best waterfowl hunting in the state, along with large concentrations of eastern-strain turkey, deer, squirrel, raccoon, cottontails, swamp rabbits, coyote, bobcat, opossum, gray fox, and beaver. Well known areas for hunting include HONOBIA CREEK WMA and THREE RIVERS WMA. The Red Slough wetlands preserve and the Little River National Wildlife Refuge are home to some of the finest waterfowl hunting in the region. The Red Slough is also great for hunting deer, quail, dove, rabbit, turkey, and even black bear when in season.

You can see a complete rundown of Oklahoma hunting regulations at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation’s website.
